A long overdue study of the life and work of Australian writer Kylie Tennant. Based on the National Library's substantial holdings of Tennant manuscripts and correspondence, this second work in the National Library's 'An Australian Life' series provides key insights into Tennant's prolific literary output as a popular novelist, children's writer and biographer. It also reveals the difficulties of Tennant's private life, and the extraordinary lengths to which she went to research her characters, taking to the roads during the Depression, moving into the slums of Sydney, and even spending a week in gaol.

Using '*' in a word will perform a wildcard search. The '*' signifies any number of characters. Searches can not start with a wildcard.
